Global Spectrum is expanded well beyond its Philadelphia headquarters with its latest deal. The Comcast-Spectacor subsidiary that manages arenas, stadiums and other public assembly facilities has signed a contract with Mubadala Development Co. to manage its 43,000-seat Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Global Spectrum will also provide consulting and guidance to the City of Abu Dhabi. The facility and the city is preparing to play host to the 2009 and 2010 FIFA Club World Cup soccer tournament starting in December. (Philadelphia Business Journal, 10/9/09)

Cooper University Hospital and Rowan University received approval this summer to establish a four-year medical school in Camden, NJ. They expect to enroll their first class in 2012. (Philadelphia Business Journal, 10/11/09)

Fox Chase Cancer Center is expanding its laboratory animal research facility, thanks to an $8 million grant it received from the National Center for Research Resources of the National Institutes of Health.
